Welcome to Shirebrook's very own web page dedicated to C.F.S. (Community Fire Safety). Our strategic aim is the reduction of deaths and injuries caused by accidental and malicious fires, to increase the number of households with smoke alarms to promote the home fire action plan and reduce the number of malicious fire calls we receive. We believe we can do this by promoting good, sound fire safety advice. Preventing an incident is better than dealing with it. What this page intends to do is provide a comprehensive guide to easy aspects of Fire Safety including specialist advice, up to date initiatives as they are introduced and the resources that are available to local groups and organizations within out community.

If you are trapped by Fire

* If necessary, put bedding along the bottom of the door to stop smoke coming in the room

Breaking a Window

* Hit the bottom corner of the glass with a sharp object

* Remove the loose glass
